Sunday School Celebration Service
|
On Sunday, December 6th the Bucyrus Free Will Baptist Church hosted Brother Paul Keener, from the Ohio State Association, who taught a
special Sunday School lesson titled, The Importance of Sunday School. Brother Keener is the Ambassador Bible Bookstore manager, which he
has faithfully served since April of 2002. Paul was saved at the age of 12 and was ordained to preach the gospel in 1974 through the Franklin
Conference. Paul and his wife Sue have four children, including Missionary Tim Keener who is serving in France. The Bucyrus Free Will
Baptist Church has faithfully given to Brother Tim’s ministry since 2007. At the end of November of 2009, the Ambassador Bible Book Store
was forced to close. Brother Paul’s dedication and hard work was a blessing to the Bucyrus Church and so the Church decided to honor
Brother Keener with a appreciation certificate. Pictured to the right is Pastor Eric Boggs giving the award to Brother Keener. To listen to the
lesson that Brother Keener taught, feel free to click on the link provided below and if your Church is need of a moving and passionate Sunday
School lesson about why Sunday School is important, than by all means invite Brother Keener. He is available by contacting him at the Ohio
State Association Office at (614) 751-1190.

Pastor Boggs publishes column in Telegraph-Forum
|
On Saturday, January 23rd, the column you see pictured to your right was published in the Bucyrus Telegraph Forum under the
Religious section. It was Pastor Eric Boggs’ first such article to make it in the local newspaper as Pastor of the Bucyrus Free
Will Baptist Church. Pastor was asked to write several religious columns for the local newspaper after being contacted by the
managing editor. Two other columns will run on June 12th and October 30th. His first column was about the prayer closet and
how that we as Christians should treat the prayer closet as a holy and sanctified place where we make our requests known
before God and where we make covenants with the Lord. The column goes on to explain how that the Lord through His
sovereign grace is able to keep that which we commit unto Him.
Church surprises Deacons with appreciation service
|
On Sunday, January 31st, 140 church members, friends, and families gave tribute to our three deacons and their
lovely wives as the church hosted a surprise Deacon Appreciation Service. Pastor Eric Boggs read from 1
Timothy chapter 3 and explained why Brother Larry Parsons, Brother Bobby Walters, and Brother John Schubert
Sr. along with their wives were not only qualified to be deacons, but that their service to the Lord, the Church,
and to each other needed to be recognized. Brother Schubert has served the Bucyrus Free Will Baptist Church as
a deacon for 45 years, Brother Parsons has served for 36 years, and Brother Walters has served for 19 years.
Each deacon has a daughter who attends the church and the daughters of each deacon presented their father and
mother with a card and gift certificate. The church then sang while church members and visitors alike gave their
own personal thank you to each of them by a hand of fellowship while we sang and rejoiced. Following the
fellowship, the Schubert Family ministered to the church in song before Pastor Ron Parsons gave the message.
Pastor Ron is the younger brother of Deacon Larry and was saved, baptized, called to preached, and ordained
while a member of the Bucyrus Free Will Baptist Church. One precious soul was saved following the message.
After the service, a luncheon was provided by the Church in honor of the Deacons and their wives. (Pictured left

Bucyrus responds to the tragedy in Haiti
|
On Sunday, February 7th, the Bucyrus Free Will Baptist Church responded to the tragedy in Haiti by sending a substantial love offering to Brother
Travis McKenzie, who is the Assistant Pastor of Canaan Free Will Baptist Church in Creston, Ohio. Brother McKenzie is heading up an effort to
collect funds to help the hundreds of thousands who have been left homeless with no means of shelter available, (see picture to the right which was
taken from the Evangelist Outreach Ministries website.) The funds raised from Brother McKenzie's efforts will be used to provide temporary shelter
by sending tents which will be distributed by the National Free Will Baptist Missionaries Richard and Wilma Turner who are stationed in Haiti.
Brother Kenneth Akers, Director of NAFWB Master's Men will be transporting the tents along with medical supplies that he is gathering sometime
in mid-February. It is time sensitive since the rainy season in Haiti is quickly approaching the little island. Brother McKenzie has volunteered his time
to acquire, and then transport to Florida, as many tents as possible to be sent with the medical supplies that Brother Akers is able to acquire. The
tents that will be purchased accommodate 6-8 persons with three seperate rooms. The price for the tents is $100 a piece. If you are interested in
helping out with this project, please contact Brother McKenzie by e-mailing him at tmjrmckenzie@embarqmail.com. You can also donate through
Evangelist Outreach Ministries. See their web site for more information. www.calvinevans.org.

Once again Youth on the Rock held a formal dinner titled the Sweet Hearts Dinner. It's a chance for the couples in our
congregation to have a full course meal in a romantic setting. Like the past couple years YOTR offered a steak or chicken
entree with salad and desert. Many from the church attended as the youth served as waiters, waitresses, kitchen help, and
babysitters. "We seem to be getting better at this every year, I am surprised how smooth everything went" said Beth
Camacho, who organizes this fund-raising event. We would like to thank all those that came out and supported Youth on
the Rock. God is doing really great things in our youth ministry and with your financial support it really helps us to be able
to be active in our group. God bless! Pictured to the left is Assistant Pastor Lyle and wife Mary Arnett being entertained by
YOTR member Darrin Hammock.

Bucyrus celebrates Valentines Day with Sweet Hearts Dinner
|

On Wednesday, February 17th, the Bucyrus Free Will Baptist Church was blessed to be visited by missionaries
Francis Landingin, and Anthony Yamat. Both young Brothers come from the island of the Philippines and have
spent the last five years studying at the Marietta Bible College, which is associated with the Independent Baptist
Mission for Asians. They have graduated and have been visiting Church’s in Ohio, Kentucky, and West
Virginia, sharing their burden for the Buddhist countries of the Philippians and Cambodia. They plan on flying
back to their home country of the Philippians for the first time in five years where they will reunite with their
families. Brother Yamat plans on starting an Independent Baptist Church in the Philippines while Brother
Landingin will be joining his uncle in Cambodia and starting a second Independent Baptist Church in that
country. These two fine young men are outstanding Brothers in Christ. Brother Yamat ministered to us in song
and Brother Landingin gave a short presentation before preaching. A link for his sermon will be provided in a
few days, so please check back in soon. Also, for further information about the Independent Baptist Mission for
Asians organization, you can visit their web site at www.ibmasians.org. Pictured to the right (left to right) is

On Sunday, February 21st, the Bucyrus Free Will Baptist Church, along with many of our youngsters, attended our monthly
service at the Fairview Manor Nursing Home in Bucyrus, OH. This service was special because the theme for the service was
love. The church sang the old fashion songs that they admire and know by heart despite the fact that some of them deal with
alzheimer’s and dementia, and then the youngsters sang a couple of their Sunday School songs for them. Pastor Eric Boggs then
preached the message, Three People Who Love You. Pastor Boggs reminded the residence that those who are working with
them, the church, and the Lord Jesus Christ love them. He took his text from 1 John 3:7-21. The youngsters then handed out
valentine cards to all the residence of Fairview Manor who were able to attend the service. This was our highest attended service
at the Nursing Home yet, with 16 of the residence, two family members of the patience, and over 20 church members and
children. The small chapel at the Home was packed. Following the service, one of the senior nurses asked Pastor Boggs what the
church was doing, because the residence get so excited when they know that the Bucyrus Free Will Baptist Church is coming.
Several of the patience have even expressed interest in attending church service at Bucyrus. Please pray us. We are currently
praying that God will open a door for the church to purchase a van with a lift on it so that some of the wheel chaired bound folks
can be picked up for Sunday morning service. Pictured to the left is little Aidan Boggs handing out some valentines.

Revival Fire Catches Bucyrus
|
On Sunday, February 21st, through Sunday, February 28th, the Bucyrus Free Will Baptist Church held and 8 day 10 service revival using five
different preachers in what will be remembered as one of the most spirit filled revivals in church history. Brother's Paul Staton, Aaron Boggs, Justin
Feight, and Jared McKinney (pictured below) were used by God in a mighty way as they preached powerful sermons that brought tremendous
conviction. Even a level two snow emergency on Friday couldn't stop the church as group of five men traveled as far as Indiana to catch some of
the revival fire. Every night, hands were being raised for prayer, but it wasn't until the last night that we were able to breakthrough and witness the
salvation of a new brother in the Lord. It was well worth the effort and we praise the Lord for such a wonderful and powerful revival. Some of the
sermons made their way to audio, and to the right you can click on them for your listening pleasure. More of them will come available when they are
uploaded throughout the week.
